Kulani holds a BA Admin Degree (Psychology and Economics) and a Diploma in Targeted Selection (FSA Contact). His business career commenced with the SA Academy for Mathematics whereafter he joined Woolworths as a Sales / Customer Service Consultant. A strong interest in recruitment led him to join Lumka & Associates in 2000 as a Recruitment Consultant and Researcher. In 2004 he joined the now SPi as a Researcher specialising in executive search. Kulani continues his academic pursuits and is enrolled for an honours degree in Industrial Psychology at UNISA. He has a passion for community development and is closely involved in grassroots projects. He is a jazz fanatic and enjoys playing chess.
James’ career commenced with one of South Africa's leading retail clothing outlets, Edgars, as a Sales Assistant. In 1997 he joined First National Bank as a Graduate Trainee and later worked for Nedbank in their Business Banking Division as a Relationship Manager. In 2001 James joined South African Airways as a Relationship Consultant, servicing SAA's most elite clientele, Platinum & Lifetime Platinum Voyager members. In 2005 James joined Search Partners International as a Researcher. James holds a B Com (Hons) in Business Management and Auditing from the University of the Free State and Auditing and a Diploma in Project Management with Damelin. He is passionate about classical and opera music, being a seasoned baritone himself. He also counsels young graduates in career development.
Pia started work as a Research Assistant at a firm of Johannesburg stockbrokers. She moved to Cape Town and spent some time at SALDRU (Southern African Labour and Development Research Unit) working for the Carnegie Corporation and the Ford Foundation at the University of Cape Town. On her return to Johannesburg, she entered the property research arena with Old Mutual Properties. She then spent some time at home with her two children, occasionally doing ad hoc work for Real Estate Surveys. In 1992, Pia joined Mines Pension Funds as a Property Analyst. In 1995 Pia started as a contract researcher at Redelinghuys and Partners / Amrop International. The company soon became Heidrick and Struggles and she became a Research Associate, Senior Associate and then Research Co-ordinator there. During this time, she attended international training conferences in Portugal and Prague. Pia joined SPi in 2006 as a Senior Researcher and Co-ordinator. She has a BA in Geography and Social Anthropology from the University of the Witwatersrand.
Florence started her career at Ampath Trust (provider of pathology related services) as an Assistant Information Specialist/Librarian in 1999. In 2001 she joined South Africa’s leading medical aid company; Discovery Health as an Access Rights Coordinator. The role entailed offering help desk support service in the Information Technology department of the organization.
Florence then joined Accenture as a Research Analyst. In this role she was tasked with providing secondary research for all the operating groups of the company which were: Financial services, Communications and High Tech, Products and Governments.
In 2005 she joined the world of executive search via Heidrick & Struggles as an Associate Researcher. Florence joined Search Partners International in 2007 as a Researcher. She holds an Honors’ degree in Library & Information Science from University of Pretoria and a certificate of Advanced Project Management from Damelin.
Her hobbies include reading non-fictional books and designing clothes.
